Accountant – Business Services

Do the good stuff. There's already an offshore team handling tax, bookkeeping, administration and much of the backend compliance work.

You’re too good with clients to be buried in compliance work.

You know that feeling when you’re stuck smashing through tax returns, fixing review points, chasing documents and wondering when you actually get to do the good part of the job?

The bit where you sit with a client, explain what’s going on, help them make smarter decisions and become the person they actually trust.

That’s this role to a tee.

You won’t be walking into an old-school firm where you’re just another accountant in the production line.

You’ll be joining a Gold Coast accounting business that’s only four years old and has already grown by 68.5% year-on-year.

That means this isn’t a replacement hire.

It isn’t someone leaving.

It isn’t a business trying to catch up.

It’s a growth hire.

A very deliberate one.

In fact, the business already knows its growth trigger.

No chaos.

No waiting until everyone is overwhelmed.

No patching holes.

Just smart, planned growth.

And the best part is you’re not expected to do everything yourself.

There’s already an offshore team handling tax, bookkeeping, administration and much of the backend compliance work, plus dedicated SMSF support.

The tax returns get done.

The bookkeeping gets done.

The administration gets handled.

Your lane is the client-facing work.

Quality control.

Conversations.

Advice.

Follow-up.

Service.

Making sure clients feel like someone is actually there for them. They call, youre there. That kind of stuff.

You’ll inherit clients.

You’ll be introduced to new clients.

You’ll build trusted relationships with business owners around Australia.

What you won’t be doing is chasing business.

No networking breakfasts.

No cold calling.

No pressure to bring in fees.

The owner is highly active in business development and client acquisition, which means there is a very strong pipeline of work.

Your job isn’t to find the work.

Your job is to make sure clients receive exceptional service once they become clients.

You’ll be managing client relationships, reviewing and quality-controlling work prepared by the team, handling client queries and follow-up, providing practical business and tax support and ensuring clients receive a responsive, professional and proactive service experience.

The flexibility is pretty bloody refreshing too.

Want to work from home? No worries.

Prefer a hybrid setup? Sweet.

Need to leave early for school pickup, appointments, family commitments or life admin?

Go for it.

The business operates on trust and outcomes, not clock watching.

That said, if you’re the type of person who genuinely wants to accelerate your career, there’s enormous value in spending time alongside the owner and the team.

You’ll be working directly with a founder who built this business from scratch, has grown it at an incredible rate, and genuinely enjoys mentoring people.
You’ll hear client conversations.

You’ll see how decisions get made.

You’ll learn how a modern accounting firm scales.

You’ll get access to someone who’s done what many accountants spend their entire careers talking about doing.

And that’s exactly who we’re looking for.

Someone who’s ambitious.

Someone who wants to keep learning.

Someone who wants coaching and development.

Someone who wants to be part of building something, not simply collecting a payslip.

Don’t get us wrong.

You’ll be paid well.

The business is happy to pay top-of-market rates for the right person because they understand that A-players create A-player outcomes.

But if your only motivation is chasing the next $5K salary bump, this probably isn’t your role.

This is for someone who wants to grow alongside a business that’s heading somewhere.

Someone who wants responsibility.

Someone who wants trust.

Someone who wants to become the person clients call first when they need help.

LABOUR HIRE SPECIALIST

I fell into the ‘cruiting trap…

Liv Jolliffe

Recruiter

‘Definitely not a wallflower’

I was described as this once, probably with the intention of causing offence – but in fact, it had the opposite effect… I’m definitely NOT A WALLFLOWER. I’m outrageous, fun loving, energetic and am usually juggling multiple categories of life, all at once!
What’s that saying? “If you want something done, give it to someone busy”? Insert raised hand emoji here!

Part of my skill set learnt early on, working in the event industry, is to facilitate expectations – both from a client and vendor perspective. You’re the middle man. You’re there to bridge the gap between what the client wants and what the vendor can provide. Much like recruiting… We’re here to find you the perfect fit, and to be open and honest about what that looks like for both client and candidate.

Safe to say I’ve found my happy place – providing both clients and candidates with solutions to their problems in a timely, no fuss approach, with modern marketing and a kick a$$ team.

I’ve always had a passion for learning new skills and it excites me to grow both personally & professionally within the Hunty team.

I hope to bring that same feeling of growth & connectedness to the clients and candidates in their employer/employee recruitment journey.

Kaity Flagg

PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT

Let’s start with the important stuff.

I stand at a whopping 5 feet tall and have officially perfected my response to short jokes: “Diamonds don’t come the size of bricks.” Ha!

I love a good pair of heels, any excuse to get dolled up, a glass of champagne in hand and Fleetwood Mac on in the background and honestly, you had me at hello.

So, how did I fall into recruitment?

Well… I turned up and never left.

Literally. That’s the whole story. Rhyley is still kicking himself.

But in all seriousness, after a decade in the game, one of my favourite things about recruitment is the front-row seat it gives you into so many different businesses and industries. Every workplace has its own personality, its own story, its own way of doing things and I feel really lucky that I get a look behind the curtain of so many of them.

More than anything though, I love that people trust me to help add quality to their teams. That part never gets old.

Coming from the land myself, I’ve also found myself naturally drawn to the agricultural space over the years. There’s just something about it that makes sense to me; the people, the hard work, the communities, the no-frills approach. Being able to recruit in an industry I genuinely understand and relate to has become a big part of what I do, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you’re up for a chat about networking, career opportunities, or just want to connect, I’d love to hear from you!

Rhyley Hunter

Managing Director

First and foremost, I’m a devoted father and husband, fully embracing the responsibilities that come with those roles. My family’s well-being is my main concern; everything else is secondary. It’s an absolute madhouse at times, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

A rehabilitated people-pleaser who no longer feels the need to masquerade as someone I’m not.

As I’ve grown older, wiser, and balder, I have found myself speaking less, listening more, and not worrying about what others think of me.

Life is short.

Business doesn’t have to be serious and full of pretenders, so I’ve taken off the mask and am simply being me: rough around the edges, quirky, and a bit of a strange cat.

Business has always fascinated me, with its ups and downs, daily lessons, and the inevitable growth that accompanies them. Along the way, I’ve accumulated my fair share of battle scars, both figuratively and maybe a few clumsy mishaps here and there. But hey, it’s all part of the journey, and I’ve learned valuable lessons from each experience.

Recruitment holds a special place in my heart because I have personally experienced the impact that an exceptional team can have on businesses. Hence, I recognize the immense importance of the industry.

I am very well aware of the transformative power we possess in helping individuals pursue improved career prospects and overall lifestyles.

Leading the Huntsman team is an absolute privilege. I love helping people grow and better themselves. I have my team’s back through thick and thin, and whatever happens, I take full ownership and responsibility.
